Photo to CAD: AI vector tracing for architecture and heritage
CVCAD converts a photograph of a facade, wall surface, fresco or architectural detail into an editable CAD drawing, scaled to real millimetres.

Instead of tracing contours by hand over a raster image, CVCAD uses computer vision to detect edges, material discontinuities and contact lines, then vectorises them into continuous polylines. What normally takes hours of manual work in AutoCAD becomes a few minutes of review and correction.
Scale is set in an interactive vector preview: pick two points with automatic vertex snapping, type the real-world distance in millimetres, centimetres or metres, and the drawing is regenerated server-side already in scale. The DXF is written by a CAD-grade library, so it opens cleanly in AutoCAD without the corruption typical of text-level rescaling.
Every job returns an SVG for layout and graphic editing plus a DXF (AutoCAD 2013 / R2013, readable from R2010 onwards). Geometry is made of real vector entities, not an embedded image, so you can layer it, dimension it and drop it straight into your drawing set.

Questions
Which CAD software can open the files?
AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Rhinoceros and QGIS read the DXF; Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity Designer and any browser open the SVG.
Is the result dimensionally accurate?
Accuracy depends on the geometry of the source image. On a rectified photoplan or orthophoto, two-point calibration gives consistent measurements across the surface; final metric validation always stays with the technician.
